    Da Vinci 1.0 Not Printing

I have a Da Vinci 1.0. The extruder works because I can load filament into it and it goes right through. The problem is that when I send a print job, it acts like it's printing, but isn't. I've already checked and it's not in dry mode. What I have noticed is that the plate is not getting warm. Could it be that if the plate malfunctions, the extruder will not heat up either? I would think if it was running a series of tests and failed, it wouldn't even pretend to be printing. What gives? Any ideas would be appreciated. I'm so close... so close.

I should also mention that as soon as the print job starts, the temperature clearly stops dropping. I can watch it count down on the screen. sad

    Thanks in advance!

What slicing software are you using? Are you using default Da Vinci firmware/slicer? I have heard there are lots of strange issues with their firmware implemetation.

I finally figured out what was going on. I'm running the Repetier firmware, and the extruder isn't automatically kicking on when I print. I'm having to go each time and check it before I start printing. I'm using Slicer and the Repetier Host software, but I can't get much to work in it. Is there something better? Also, how can I set the printer to default to a particular temp every time? It keeps going back to zero. Thanks.

I have not used Repetier Host software, but you should be able to save/export your Slic3r configurations so all you have to do is import a file next time you want to slice something with specific settings.
