Yes, it is, mainly due to the fact that we had to develop a special type of PLA so that the ink could stick to the plastic.

Frankly thats one thing many of us 3D printing enthusiasts hate about your company. We have to be able to use anyones filament and no one wants to be stuck using your ink like the horrible inkjet fiasco. By locking your printers to using only your filaments your company has alienated a huge part of those who might otherwise be interested in your printers. I looked at your printers a year ago and found them all too pricey fir what they were and add paying 3 to 4 times the cost to use only your filament has made your printers too expensive to use for the low end printing needs and not good enough for the high end needs. If your company would make it use anyones filament and really cheap ink you might have some interest.

We have a selection of printers that are open source, our da Vinci Pro series for instance, so everything is just a matter of what suits your needs the best. We understand that there are people who want to use different materials, so we adapted and created that for you guys. I'm sure in time we'll keep adapting and making changes depending on feedback. So thank you for yours. If you have any questions, just let me know.

All the comments made on this thread is valuable feedback and I'll do my best to answer all your questions.

So, a little about the product: this September marks the release of the worlds first full color FDM printer, the da Vinci Color. With the da Vinci Color, designers are able to make prints that cover the full spectrum of color due to 3D Color Jet technology. This means that weve combined CMYK Inkjet technology and FDM printing to bring you a machine that adds actual color to every layer of plastic.

This technology can serve wonders when it comes to creating prototypes, personal items, or event finalized prints for sale. You can also expect to see a shift in the industry as more and more 3D printer companies start to move towards full color plastic printing. All the printer information can be found on our website and you can already see some articles on TechCrunch and Wired.

Again, if you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them.

I saw this presentation yesterday at the IFA (Via Facebook ok sound was a little bit crappy )

I like my Davinci Pro a lot... But there is only one big problem with your support. Here in Holland there is less support And if it is it is slow. It make me scared to buy from Xyzprinting again.
I Think there is a second problem in Holland too about the company
    People come and go...

So the hardware is ok ( ok you must love plastic machines) But the support..

I like the New Color printer. And it looks nice Maybe I buy one if the price is lower than $1999
I wanted to share with you some videos from IFA but they are not converted to the proper format. Here are some samples that are at IFA right now. Since I work at the sales office of XYZprinting, USA, I cannot comment on the support from other regions. Just keep voicing your concerns and hopefully that'll spur some change in that region.
