I am seeing this same error and am hoping that someone out there has found a resolution to it. Brand new, just unboxed XYZ Nobel 1.0 and it never initializes, just shows 'XYZPRINTING' on the LCD. Also the printer is never recognized by the PC it is connected to.

I've been having the same problem. Just received my Nobel 1.0 yesterday. There is no connection recognized by my computer, the LCD display is showing nothing but XYZPRINTING, and the buttons do nothing.
Was anyone able to figure out what the issue was?

Same problem here and the company refuses to acknowledge that the problem exists.

I was sent a exe file from the manufacturer that is supposed to restart the firmware if you can get the usb to recognize the device. I can not connect with usb so it does me no good. I was thinking of clearing the board so I could reflash with bossa but I'm not sure what jumper pins to use. If anyone whats the file to try I'll send it over.

that exe file they sent you is important. that may be the only way to update the firmware. if we can see what the transfer looks like then maybe we will know more about writing custom firmware. you can try looking at the exe with a hex editor to see what bin file or hex file is wrapped up inside. there may be a config file in there to set the parameters of TFTP, RS232, JTAG etc..maybe it is an FTDI232. no need to panic. if you have no firmware then you panic. you can also dump the firmware if you can figure out what it is you are trying to dump. I don't think they would lock the dump on a cheap machine with no testing. that thing is still in development if that is what they ship.
