  • Da Vinci Post-Mortem: Read this before you buy!

After about 10 months of ownership, I am now done with my XYZ Da Vinci 2.0 Duo, and am posting this to relay my experiences with the product and company as a whole. I have had a very negative experience, and would like to sum the entire thing up in four words:

    Do not buy this.

Or really any of their printers, but let's delve into a bit more detail.

Hardware-wise the Da Vinci is a solid machine. It looks beautiful and professionally made. Physically it...

    Da Vinci Duo

    Hi
Just got this brand new. I'm having an issue with the left-side extruder scraper thingy. When the print head moves across to scrape at whatever stage of the process it never reaches all the way back, making a noise as if the cogs are slipping and then when it moves to the back left to scrape the print head it misses as it's not for enough back. I've calibrated to to 100 to attempt to resolve some issues with inconsistent prints, but I wonder if this may be partly related to prints slipping...

    Adjusting bed in da vinci

    WELL WELL!!!..

2 Days ago just received my 2nd DA VINCI 1.0A.... I did not want a 2 EXTRUDERS... Eventually I consider them a waste of money at least for the use I need my PRINTERS... ALTHOUGH I have another 4 with DUO EXTRUDERS... Anyway.

I made my first PRINT with the 1.0A easily... But the object was small... And printed mostly in center of the bed...

Then I tried a bigger one... 3 times bigger object than the previous...

    A LOT OF PROBLEMS......

Da Vinci 2.0 Duo Calibration woes

    Hi folks,

I've managed to flub my printer up pretty hard. The calibration is so far off that I get +ERR +ERR +ERR every time I run the routine. I know this means the bed is either too high or too low to detect. Unfortunately I don't know which it is. If any of you have owned a Da Vinci you probably recognize my frustration.

  • Extruders Not Heating on Da Vinci 2.0 Duo!

Anyone with ideas please, please speak up. It's not the connectors on top; those are gone and the wires are directly connected. If I hold a hair dryer to the extruder, the temp does go up. As long as I have the dryer blowing on it I never get the heater decoupled error. As soon as I stop the dryer the temp drops and the decoupled error hits. It's like the motherboard isn't sending the command to fire up the extruders. I've checked and the onboard fuses do not appear to be blown.

    Successes with Duo?

    Hi All.
I'm new to the forum and I am looking for any assistance or experiences with the Da Vinci Duo (Blue).
I'm rarely able to get a successful print out of it.
I turned it off a few weeks as I was just getting frustrated - went back to it today.

Issue 1 - Extruder 2 drags into the previous layer
Issue 2 - Extruder wire harness sometimes messes with the left side drive belt
Issue 3 - Curving up at corners of prints - skirt helps a bit
    Issue 4 -...

    Simplify3D

So I am normally very put off by 3rd-party software when it comes to this sort of application, so I thought I'd share my experiences.

I have a Da Vinci 2.0 Duo that has been, shall we say... temperamental. It worked fine out of the box and I was thrilled with the simplistic software. I do all my own modeling and didn't need anything more sophisticated. Unfortunately, the printer only wanted to work in fits and starts, suffering a myriad of bizarre issues and prompting many unkind...

    Da Vinci Filament Problem.

Hello, I have a DaVinci Duo 2 XYZ Printer. I have not had it long, but after setting it up and getting the hang of things it's worked fine.

I have been Printing with both colours. Red/White that come with the Machine. With no problems.

When I went to use it today, I could see the White Filament had snapped off just inside the top of the head where it feeds in. I don't know why this has happened.

Does anyone know how I can get the Filament out of the head,...

  • This is not true. There are MANY pre-assembled devices on the market for under $1,000. I paid $960 for a pre-assembled Wanhao Duplicator 4S. Before that, I bought a $750 Da Vinci 2.0 Duo. I would not recommend the Duo to anyone, but the point remains. Even the Printrbot Simple you mentioned can be had pre-assembled for $700....

    Immediate filament jams

    Hi folks,

I have a Da Vinci 2.0 Duo that's currently enjoying instant filament jams and issues heating the right extruder. Its possible the part is bad, but I am not ruling out software. A week ago I had this problem and fixed it by ditching XKZ-Ware and buying Simplify 3D. Unfortunately, now it's back with a vengeance.

If I load the filament, I can see a stead stream come out of the extruders. In fact, when I tell the unit to print, the first thing it does is eject...
