Wanted: Looking to buy my first 3D printer

Advise is appreciated on a good one to start with.

Advise or if you have one for sale hit me up. I don't have a lot to invest so I would like to be under $350

Pre - assembled or kit? Looking at a small build platform for that price in a a pre - assembled. Would recommend printrbot play personally. It has good reviews and there is an upgrade available for the bed to increase area when you can afford it. Otherwise I have seen Prusa I3 kits for fairly cheap that would give you a larger build area, but involve a learning curve in initial set-up.

Prusa 3i -- You can get the kits all over.
Most likely you need to put it together, but the learning will help in the maintenance of it..
And I feel like a printing press operator. The little bugger all the time need this or that tightened.
      Good luck...

Thank you both. I have been looking at the Prusa I3 ones. What are the differences. I see on eBay they range from 200-400 with all variations. Any help would be appreciated on which to get

I agree, stick with a Prusa I3. Easier to set up and trouble shoot. If you can get a metal frame, that is a big plus. Also, thing about how big you are going to want to print. Bed size does matter.

Thanks. Is there a difference between the Prusa i3 geeetech , Chinese and one direct from Prusa?

I bought mine though the 3dprinteronline store from Geeetech. I would try to find the bed size you need and a metal frame... just my 2 cents

You ain't gonna get these printers at those prices cos by the time those auctions are done the price is upped.

Do a search on ebay but with "Free Postage" to get a feel of what it is going to cost you. Postage also depends on where in the world you are so be careful and always check what the total cost will be DELIVERED to your door.

Check out 3dprintersonlinestore/ and you will get a realistic price of what you will pay.
For $350/- you'd need to look at the DIY ones, but remember that you will have to do a lot of fiddling and setup before you get any reasonable prints.

I bought the Geeetech Aluminium one (Last in your list) for $250+ $80 postage but that was around Xmas and prices have gone up now, but these usually go for about $330.00 to $350+ or more on eBay Auction (including postage).

The Acrylic ones come in different flavours and with free filament so take that into account as well.

But Acrylic is brittle so be careful. If I was getting an Acrylic one then I would get this one :

https://www.3dprintersonlinestore.co...p-prusa-i3-kit - comes with 2 rolls of filament free and is the latest design. Check the website for postage quotes to your location. Leaves you spare cash to source/build an enclosure for your printer.

The Geeetech Aluminium one is also available here for $353 INCLUDING postage but no one offers free filament at that price.

                Cheers
