I recently purchased the Da Vinci Jr and I asked my teacher if he had any extra filament I could have, so he gave me about 100m of filament Once the printer arrived I realized I can not use alternate spools. The filament is the same size and as far as I can tell with given specs it is the same. Can I re-spool the old roll with the new material and the machine be fine with it? Will my warranty or anything of that sort be ruined? Also Can I remove 100% of the filament from the machine if something goes wrong?

I am not sure if the spools are chipped or not with the Da Vinci printers... If not, you should be able to re-spool it and use it.

Yeah, to my understanding Davinci's are chipped machines. Meaning no matter what you physically have, if you didn't pay them for the filament you're using you can't use it, without hacking your firmware. I understand why they do it, financially, but it's not a benefit to their consumers so i don't approve, myself.
