  • Makerbot replicator 2 hot end not going above 175

Hi everyone. I am new to the group and would really appreciate your ideas. My rep 2's hot end quite suddenly stopped going to its op temp (midprint) and now wont go above 175. This causes the filament to jam up as 175 doesnt seem enough to allow the filament to melt fast enough to print normally. Any ideas...?

I see that this is an old post, but this may be useful to somebody else.
Check that the config file hasn't been modified. It sounds like the wrong thermistor selection.
It is also possible that the thermistor was damaged or that the pullup resistor is damaged. The table is a more likely source of change.
You can verify by measureing the Voltage at the thermistor and check to see that it is appropriate for the temperature.
Another possible source of trouble is a poor connection in the heater wiring.
