I just bought a used Anet A8 and would like to use it with my Raspberry Pi. Is there a way to have the Pi send commands and gcode files to the A8 WITHOUT going through a network and WITHOUT connecting a PC? If so, what software would need to be loaded onto the Pi? Thanks for any help.

Raspberry Pi with Anet A8?

I have tried Octoprint on the Pi and it comes up with a command line prompt. I think it acts as a host and expects a web interface to be used. I was hoping for a user-friendly, intuitive interface such as Cura (without using a PC). I wouldn't mind using my SD card except I have no "SD CARD" option on the A8 menus. It's probably disabled in the configuration file.
