    What 3D Printer to Buy?

    Greetings!

So, I have a question. A friend of mine is looking for a good 3D Printer, and I want to get him one for Christmas. He wants to do mini's, and full statues. He isn't looking for insane clean models, nor is he looking for metal or wood printing. He simply wants one that prints with any filament, and that makes really good miniatures, as well as 12" sculptures. I have heard Flash Forge printers are really good, but I don't want to spend money I don't need to spend. My budget is $300. Can you guys help me out? Thanks!

I bought a Creality Ender 3 through Gear Best, for which I am currently waiting to arrive, based on YouTube reviews. I paid about $170 for it, but I've heard the Ender 3 Pro has a magnetically attachable, flexible bed that makes parts removal easy.

With the kind of budget you have, you can get some really good 3D printers and here is a list of these:
      • Wanhao Duplicator i3 Mini
      • Tevo Michelangelo Cantilever 3D Printer
      • Anycubic i3 Mega Ultrabase 3D Printer
      • FLSUN CUBE Large Scale 3D Printer Kit
      • FlashForge Finder 3D Printer
      • Flyingbear P902 3D Printer
All these 3D printers are available at very reasonable prices (within your budget) on ‘3D Printers Bay’.
Buy FLSUN i3 Plus Large Print Area 300x300x420mm 3D Printer Kit (DIY) from FLSUN Family. Dual Extrusion. Dual Z Design. Metal Structure. Auto leveling. Touchscreen. Supports Flexible filaments. MK3 Heated bed.

The Creality Ender 3 is a great printer out of the box.
However, let's look at your question...
The build volume is 235 x 235 x 250 mm which is basically 9.75 x 9.75 x 10 inches tall. Is that going to be big enough? If not, you might want to look at the Geetech A10, which is a Creality CR-10S clone. It's got a build volume of 300 x 300 x 400 mm. It's within your budget as well.

The Creality Ender 3 is proving very popular with miniature makers. Take a look at the "Tomb of 3D Printed Horrors" channel on YouTube to see what can be done with it.

Hey guys! Thanks for the input, I'm taking a look now at some of these models. My friend used one before, anything bigger then 8.9 X 5.7 x 5.9" is bigger, and one enclosed would be even better. I'm looking around at your suggestions. Thanks for your help so far! If you have anymore suggestions let me know

What‘s a good, semi-affordable, good, maybe upgradeable, good 3D printer? I read a comparison article between several printers, and the one they liked the best was the Prusa. Which of course I had never heard of, and isn‘t sold on Amazon. Creality seems like the most popular on Amazon. It does not have to come from. Amazon, I just shop there a lot. I have no experience at all with 3D printers, but I was an IT tech for years, have done a fair amount of coding and played with Raspberry Pi a bit. I want something I can learn on, but not so limited I would want to replace it within 3 months.

In fact, if you want to save money, you can also buy DIY parts yourself.
