    Kscan3D not exporting .ply properly

    I am scanning people using kscan3d software and 4 kinect sensors. I am exporting as .ply files for printing. The scans look great in the kscan3d software and when you open it in CloudCompare it looks great, you can almost read what time it was on the wristwatch! But CloudCompare gives you the error “Mesh has no normal! You can compute them…” When you do the steps and compute them, the scan looks lumpy and is darker. In Blender, it displays the same effect.
    Evidently the Kscan3d software is not exporting properly. As anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to rectify the lumpiness and darkness? Thanks for any insight.

    For some reason, many scanning programs export with normals inverted (or non existent?) sometimes. Maybe try to recalculate normals outside (Ctrl + N) or recalculate normals inside (Ctrl + Shift + N) in Blender.
