Small Changes In Model - School Project NEW REPLY

    Hi guys,

Thank you for stopping by to help me out. I am a student and in my Robotics project im looking to use a premade model that I found online. The thing is that I need to make a small change in the model but I dont have any experience with 3D modeling.

    Model Link: https://hackaday.io/project/25092-ze...nu-description

What I need is just to remove all the inner connections in the upper and lower part of the body (I have to put in there other parts that need different spacing).
Example: https://prnt.sc/ghe20x - Hope this makes sense, if not Ill try to explain better.

Basically what Im trying to have is an empty body (Besides the upper and lower body connectors) that I could put in my own electronics.

Again thank you for taking your time to help, its much appreciated!

I will give what you as a try. But seeing that the model is quite smooth (which means more triangles to remove) it WILL take a while. Are you ready to wait for this to be done? Maybe 3 to 4 days?

Basically you want the interior supports removed as per the image you posted for both upper and lower.

Hi, thank you for your respond. I want to remove the interior without damaging the structure of the model (So it wont be weak)

Here are the two shells - upper and lower with the central supports removed. This was done with Sketchup which beats any other 3d app when mods like you asked are required.Hope this is what you need.

Thank you. Is that a program that a beginner like me could learn and use?

Sure it is. Also its free. In my experience, if you need to mod any stl model, there is no other application that will do it like sketchup can.
