    confounded thing!!!!

Ive been 3Ding for a few months..I have this ANet A8 + thats giving me fits...I've exhausted my attempts at trouble shooting..and no avail..Here's what it does...When I start it up all it does is make a ticking noise and doesnot put any info on the screen...I've tried new mother Boards, several new lads, unplugged everything and made sure the labeled wires were in the proper slots, The power supply indicates 24.06v....one light on the mother board and it goes out if I hook up the fans, so I thought ahha...power supply, aint so..I've swapped most of the components to another A8 and they all seem to work as expected,..the fan does run in the power supply when I turn it on. Im kinda at my wits end...anyhelp out there? I've even kept myself in check...NO HAMMERS...!!!!..I hyavelike I said exhausted all my trouble shooting skills...IF I had any to start with..I will say..the machine worked beautifully for 4 months, much filament and One 17 hour print....now its so much junk..

Hi, at one stage I had to replace the motherboard on my Anet A8 but I also had to change the marlin firmware to make it run. Maybe you need to update yours. Regards Col

It seems like with all the parts you are purchasing to fix it, you could buy another one. Anyways, where is the ticking sound coming from?

My guess is the cogs on one of the stepper motors slipping over the teeth on the rubber belt.. Put another way the 'end stop' is not working. Good luck it looks like you have a way to go.
