I almost got the printrbot simple maker's edition, but I decided to get the xyzprinting da vinci 1.0 as my 1st 3d printer.

I might have gotten the The Phoenix 3d printer but didn't want to wait 10-12 weeks to get it.

i'm hoping it is as well, i can't wait.

also i will install custom firmware on it, if i find the stock firmware/software, doesn't get the job done for me.

Da Vinci looks like the best option to be fair!
Just would hope the delay isnt long on it arriving.
Resolution even seems perfect for how cheap it is.

Almost a month with the da vinci, and all I can say it's AWESOME. Prints come out really good especially for $500.

If we're showing 3D printers under 500... include the eventorbot, when you build it yourself it comes out to about $450. I'm starting my 3rd Eventorbot this weekend

Thank you for posting this, it's more helpful then you'd know. Being able to talk to people to actually know what they are talking about is such a huge help in this process. Especially since it is a big investment to put into for me it would be between buying a new computer to do my computer animation and designing work and would be able to stand the high power I would need or getting a 3D printer something that every computer nerd wants.

EBay mostly... eventorbot.com has a parts list to go by, and you can buy metal parts to sub the printed parts directly from duy. YouTube eventorbot and you can get instructions to build by... I would look at the videos first and then go buy my parts

                                  Hi all,
I want to get into 3d printing and have looked around quite a bit, I have narrowed it down to a couple of printers to start, so would you recommend the Printrbot Simple Metal Kit or the Q3d ThreeUP V2. I am new and this would be my first printer. I am not sure if anyone has had experience with these and how well they work, but if you have advice on which to purchase that would be great!

I can clearly see that the thread is from 2014, and the price of products now has probably fluctuated. But still it's a wonderful guide for buyers who want good printer in reasonable price. One of my colleague has "The Phoenix" and he never seem to praise the device, insisting me to have one. lol

But the tip I'm going to give to you may help you save few bucks. If you are non-regular users like me, or not an expert on using 3d printers. Keep an eye on services that offer cheap 3d prints according to your demands.

                                        I had one done by - https://3dprinterchat.com/buy-3d-prints/

                                        And they were simply amazing.

Or you can also try to make it on your own like detailed in the post above.

So, speaking of cheap 3d printers, I bought this one for under $200 shipped:

                                          http://www.gearbest.com/3d-printers-...pp_293807.html

I'm guessing that I just bought a box of frustration and despair, but does anybody have any suggestions for me before it arrives? You know, besides go back in time and don't be so cheap and buy a better printer... Searching for 3dcstar gives me little information. It looks like the PRUSA kit at the top of the list here. Would the more educated eyes here be able to confirm that guess? I bough this as a learning experience, here's to hoping that the lesson isn't "don't make impulse buys"...

I've gotten only 8 printers all different brands but cr10 mini has held its ground and even when it did mess up it was just a ptfe tube and that's the cheapest one I own it can compete with a raise n2+ speed and quality for under 350 cr10 mini if your new to printing dont go with a kit it may ruin your idea of 3d printing my first was a flying bear p905x and it looks great on paper but to assemble it will take some real experience I've been at it for a year and only now can I look at it and assemble so be careful when buying kits make sure assembling video is on YouTube or a community behind the product I'm only here cause I never gave up flying bear will definitely test your patience when building with no instructions

I found 2 more printers that are less than $300 delivered.
                                              The HE3D K200 prints about 200 x 200 x 400+/- (about $200 today)
                                              the HE3D K280 prints 280 x 280 x 585+ (about $250 today)
both are delta printers and are available from reprap.cn where you can see the full specs.

I am using the K280 and love it
